Jason & David's Wedding Celebration Weekend
Join us in the North Georgia mountains for a weekend of events to celebrate our commitment to one another
The Meet Cute
David started his pet care business in Atlanta in the fall of 2013 in an attempt to find happiness in his work. Little did he know that a year later while meeting a prospective client, he would find Abby, the senior Springer Spaniel that would bring he and Jason together. The two chatted about Abby over an app David had been using to advertise his business, and the chat evolved into a playful, hours-long back and fourth that ended with a meeting at a bar in Midtown (well, two bars - the first one was too loud for a business meeting), the neighborhood they both called home.
At first, Jason was confused about why David didn’t have a British accent. He’d been chatting with someone else and had gotten his meetings mixed up. To anyone that knows Jason, this isn’t a surprise. The meet and greet turned into a four-hour long conversation during which Jason and David bonded over stories of growing up in the middle of nowhere; Jason in a small town in the middle of the Appalachian mountains in West Virginia and David in a small town surrounded by corn fields in Indiana. After probably two too many drinks each and successfully closing down the bar for the night, they stumbled home to their respective apartments, still texting one another and laughing all the way. An unexpected goodnight kiss on the corner of 8th and Piedmont likely sealed the deal during the wee hours of that cold winter morning on December 14, 2014.
Their story got off to a rough start, neither of them sure they were ready for a new relationship. But eventually, they both realized they couldn’t really see themselves with anyone else. They didn’t have much in common at first - Jason had a keen business acumen while David preferred creative endeavors, Jason enjoyed completing hands-on projects while David was better suited for quiet nights of writing and listening to music, Jason had spent four years in the Navy and enjoyed structure while David had spent his twenties hopping from city to city and preferred more fluidity in his life - but they somehow fit together.
They found common ground in a good mozzarella stick and a bottle of wine and the different personalities somehow balanced each other. Their shared love of travel and the comforts of home helped them find common ground. They discovered incredible moments of peace and satisfaction when they traveled to both Barcelona and Blue Ridge, revealing that they indeed wanted the same things from life.
A few years in and a surprise promotion for Jason took them to Dallas for three years, a stint that almost broke them, considering neither one of them cared for the area. But then, a silver lining appeared in the form of a short-lived work-from-home order, and that reprieve allowed them to move to a more fitting location for them both; Chicago. Before the move, they snuck off and got married by a supportive lesbian judge. But not long after moving to Chicago, another opportunity for Jason uprooted them once again. This time, to New York City. While it was a welcome opportunity, NYC had not been part of their plan. But nevertheless, they made it work. And now, years later, they are as strong as they have ever been.
They are currently planning their next, and hopefully final move to the mountains of Blue Ridge, Georgia, the slice of paradise to which they one day hope to retire. They hope you’ll join them in this mountain paradise for a weekend of fun events to celebrate their marriage that took place in 2020.

Important Information
Q. Where is Blue Ridge?
A. Blue Ridge is a small town nestled in the mountains of North Georgia, approximately 15 miles from both the North Carolina and Tennessee state lines. It is approximately 90 miles north of Atlanta and approximately 90 miles southeast of Chattanooga.
Q. How do I get there?
A. You can arrive by car or by plane (you'll need a car once you land though). The closest airport to Blue Ridge is Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL). From there, it is approximately a two-hour drive north on I-75/I-575/GA-515 depending on where you stay. If you need help with specific directions, let us know!
Q. What should I wear?
A. It depends on which events you plan to attend. If you are joining us for all the scheduled events, we suggest bringing a few casual outfits, one or two nicer outfits, and some beach clothes. Summers in Georgia can be hot and humid, but temperatures can be slightly cooler in the mountains at night. You'll probably be fine in shorts, but if you tend to get cold, bring some pants and maybe a light jacket.
